About Kol Brama

Kol Brama (Hebrew for a voice was heard) is a community-led initiative dedicated to the prevention and early intervention of family, domestic, and sexual violence (FDSV) within the Jewish community.

We believe that every individual and family deserves safety, dignity, and support — and that change begins within our own community.

Our Purpose

Kol Brama works to strengthen community safety by:

  • Educating leaders and community members to recognise, respond, and refer when someone may be experiencing violence.

  • Supporting Jewish organisations, schools, and shuls to create safe environments and uphold best practice in prevention and early intervention.

  • Collaborating with existing services such as Jewish Care, Safe Steps, Hatzolah, TOD, and others to ensure culturally safe, coordinated responses.

Our Approach

Kol Brama focuses on education, accountability, and cultural safety.
We empower individuals and institutions to take action early — before harm escalates — and to foster environments where safety and respect are community norms.

We do not replace or duplicate existing services. Instead, we work alongside them to strengthen and connect the systems that support Jewish families and individuals.

Our Vision

A Jewish community where everyone can live free from violence, where relationships are built on safety and respect, and where leaders, educators, and community members play an active role in prevention and early intervention of family, domestic and sexual violence.
